Beginner Sewing Classes

Are you interested in learning to sew? Join us for two beginner sewing classes that will take place in February. Children are welcome to join the class and learn to sew.

First Class

  • Date & Time: Monday, February 21st - 9am - 12pm
  • Place: Robb Drive Raley's Community Room
  • Cost: $10 for 3 hour class

Second Class

  • Date: Saturday, February 26th - 1 pm to 4 pm
  • Place: Robb Drive Raley's Community Room
  • Cost: $10 for 3 hour class

Sewing machines and supplies are provided. You are welcome to bring your own sewing machine if you have one.

We will be making a fun pillowcase.

You will need to bring a piece of fabric that is 42 inches wide by 28 inches long and a second piece of fabric that is 10 inches wide by 28 inches long. You will also need to bring thread.

Kits containing the fabric and thread needed to make a pillowcase are available for $10 per kit.
The class will cost $10 for the 3 hours. You can stay as long as you want

In this class you will learn how to:

  1. How to thread a sewing machine
  2. How to make a bobbin
  3. How to sew the pillowcase together using a straight stitch
