Letter from the Director - August 2021

Note on a line

“But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”  - 1 Cor 16:57-58

Dear sisters,

It may seem this pandemic has been going ‘forever,’ that the world is spinning out of control. America seems to be disintegrating as evil seems to be winning. BUT GOD, yes, our great, good, loving Father/Friend is in control – hallelujah! Because our energy isn’t what it was a few years back, it may also seem the work we do for the Lord is sometimes in vain. BUT GOD says that isn’t true!

I know you all know this, but it is good for us to remember God’s truth = freedom. “Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.” Jn 8:32 It is good for us to remember God’s timetable isn’t ours. It was 40 years after Moses fled to Midian that the angel appeared to him in the burning bush. Yes, 40 years the Israelites wandered… sometimes God just waits for us to come to our senses.. We get impatient and want things ‘now’ but are instructed to wait. “Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” Ps 27:14

Our job is to continue to trust. We don’t need to know the ‘why’ or the ‘where’ or the ‘how’ because God does. Our job is to keep our eyes fixed on Him as we journey each day. “Let us run with perseverance the race marked out before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.” Heb 12: 1-2

Our job is also to not be fearful and to encourage others to trust God. We are His witnesses to the world – ‘little anointed ones.’ If others can see God’s peace in us because we trust in Him, they will want what we have – assurance God has a plan and it will unfold in His time, in His way. Let us turn to His Word to see our path – not a spotlight into the far future, but step by step He promises to light our way. “Your Word is a lamp for my feet, a light for my path.” Ps 119:105

I am so grateful God has provided for us a community of faith- sisters to journey and to serve with. As we draw closer to Him, we also draw closer to one another, sharing burdens and joys. God has brought us together as SYNC in His love and for His purpose. May we continue to encourage one another and build one another up to glorify God in every aspect of our lives.

Maranatha!
