Letter from the Director

“We give thanks to you, O God, we give thanks to you! We proclaim how great you are and tell of the wonderful things you have done!” Ps 75:1 GNB God showed up in a wonderful way on the 15th at our Beth Moore Simulcast! I do believe he answered our prayer and touched every heart!!! His message through Beth was truly anointed! The SYNC Team was amazing. We were grateful to the wonderful women of Sierra Bible Church for the exceptional hospitality in providing an awesome venue. We were blessed by Pastor Karl welcoming the ladies and operating the tech equipment. Gratitude abounds for many generous donations. The funds we received from the event will allow us to meet expenses and have funds for foreseeable needs moving forward.THANK YOU to everyone who helped plan, make cookies, set up, greet, register, make name tags and packets, work the book and craft tables, make coffee and on and on!!! You, ladies were each so fabulous!!!!! It was pretty amazing to see the team full-on right on the heels of serving the Pathfinder’s Dinner just a few days prior.

We’d love to hear from you!!!!!

Saturday the SYNC Team met at my place to put the finishing touches on our upcoming events. We also began looking forward, considering what could be offered to the women in our community this coming spring. Here is where we need your input!

How can SYNC Best Serve?

How can SYNC best:

 connect women throughout our community,
foster hope and purpose,
and encourage women to serve?

Spring Event

Would you like to have a spring event? If so, would you prefer a:

  • Simulcast?
  • Expo?
  • Themed Event with breakouts?
  • Something else?

Please email us at [email protected]
with your thoughts and ideas!

Here are some possibilities for a spring event,
(previous SYNC offerings):

  • Priscilla Shirer Simulcast April 6,2018(The last Saturday of Washoe Co Spring Break and two weeks prior to Easter).
In 2017, we presented a “Priscilla Shirer Webcast.” The focus was on prayer. Venue: Outlook Church
  • Another ExpoIn 2015 we invited ministries throughout our valley to each have a table at our “Women in SYNC Expo” where they could pass out materials and explain the focus of their ministry. Jill Tolles was our speaker. This brought many new people and lots of connections were made. Venue: Airport Plaza Hotel.
  • A themed event with breakouts
    • In 2014 our “Telling Your Story Conference” focused on telling our faith story according to our gifts and talents (i.e., if you are an artist, then paint. If you sew.. write.. sing etc.) The venue was South Reno Methodist Church.
    • In 2015, prior to the Expo and official “launch” of SYNC, a Saturday was set aside for women to connect in the community, “Getting in SYNC with God’s Call and Each Other.” They had fun creating personal shields and shared their dreams and concerns explaining the symbolism of their shield art. Karen Goodrick was our speaker. Venue: Grace Church.
    • In 2016 our “Detox” Event focused on ridding our lives of anything distracting us from God. Karen Goodrick was our speaker. We had breakout sessions women could choose from such as ‘Family Culture,’ ‘Just in Case,’ ‘Healthy Living’ etc. Venue: Airport Plaza Hotel.

Please email us at [email protected]  with your thoughts and ideas!

In addition to these SYNC events, in 2017 we assisted other ministries when we served the Pathfinders Banquet, helped with Awaken’s silent auction, and held an Ice Cream Social for Life Changing Community Outreach to assist in raising funds for the inner-city playground. In July of this year, 2018, we held another Ice Cream Social for Life Changing Community Outreach at the (new and now named) Gail Willey Playground dedication.

“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up.”
1Thess 5:11

May the King of all kings bless each of you richly!
